Hi, I’m Ludwine Van Craenenbroeck, or shorter: Ludi. And I illustrate. Why? While living in La Reunion (2016-2019), drawing became a way to connect. To the people around me and my environment. It allowed me to create a deeper understanding of the world around me, to look for the stories.
Today, by merging art with a passion for storytelling, I aim to do just that: connect. Or better yet: let you connect.
My illustrations are gateways to shared experiences, infusing projects with authenticity, empathy, and the richness of diverse narratives.
I enjoy working with different materials. As us, each has its own characteristics. While watercolor will help me to convey a playful, dreamy story. Ink will do a better job in transfering reality.
Besides illustrating, I work as a full time communication expert at the Flanders Heritage Agency, which gives me a certain storytelling capacity to enrich my illustrations with.
Active involvement shapes my path. Alongside my roles as an illustrator and a communications expert, I serve as Coordinator for Urban Sketchers and a tour guide at KrisKras, a sustainable travel agency. Both voluntary engagements that have molded me into a proficient listener and a conduit for stories, profoundly impacting not only my art but also shaping me as an illustrator driven by empathy, connection, and universal tales.
As an artist, communicator, and community advocate, my work resonates with a genuine appreciation and wonder for the beauty found in every story.
